Games and options can be saved using one block of space on the PlayStation memory card. Mode, Director's Mode, Practice and a Bonus mode. Like others in the series, gameplay involves fighting opponent after opponent to determine once and for all who is the strongest fighter in the world. Returning characters from the original Street Fighter EX (Ken, Ryu, Guile and Chun Li) are joined by new characters to make up a roster of 20 playable fighters, not including hidden, unlockable characters.
Street Fighter EX 2+ is Capcom's second attempt to bring the Street Fighter II series into full, polygonal 3D. The primary new feature in the game are "Excel Combos", The original version of Street Fighter EX 2 retains all the features from the previous game, Street Fighter EX Plus, including original features such as "Guard Breaks" (unique moves which cannot be blocked by an opponent) and "Super Canceling" (the ability to cancel a Super Combo into another Super Combo).
An updated version of the game titled Street Fighter EX2 Plus was released in 1999 for the arcades as well and subsequently ported to the PlayStation.
It is a sequel to the original Street Fighter EX, a 3D spinoff of the Street Fighter series. Street Fighter EX 2 is a 2D head-to-head fighting game with 3D graphics, co-produced by Capcom and Arika originally released in 1998 as a coin operated arcade game for the Sony ZN-2 hardware.
